LIVE: 2,134 new COVID-19 cases, 57 deaths in Delhi in last 24 hours
India on Saturday (June 13, 2020) recorded more than 11,000 cases in the last 24 hours for the very first time since the outbreak making it the highest jump recorded in a day. The total tally crossed 3 lakh on Saturday and the death toll was at 8884.

Delhi records 2,134 new COVID-19 cases, 57 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Total cases surged to 38,958. Active count at 22,742. Total deaths - 1,271.
Gujarat: 517 new positive cases and 33 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases rose to 23,079, of which 15,891 are cured/discharged. The death count is at 1,449.
Haryana: 415 new cases take the State's total to 6,749, including 2,803 recovered/discharged. There are 3,868 active cases and 78 COVID-19 deaths.
Punjab: 77 new cases and 2 deaths reported today. The total number of positive cases in the state is now 3,063 including 671 active cases and 2,327 recovered patients. The death toll stands at 65.
West Bengal: COVID-19 cases increased to 10,698; death toll went up to 463 with 12 more fatalities.
Ghaziabad: 23 new confirmed were reported today. The total increased to 604, out of which 211 are still active.
Gautam Budhh Nagar: 35 new cases in the last 24 hours took the total to 865. There are around 359 active cases now.
Maharastra: 3,427 new cases and 113 deaths were reported today in the State, taking the total number of cases to 1,04,568 and the death count to 3,830.
Tamil Nadu: 1,989 new cases in 24 hours take state's total to 42,687. Active - 18,878.
Total discharged so far - 23,409
30 new deaths took toll to 397.
Chennai: 1,484 today; total 30,444; active 14,810.
Karnataka: 209 people were discharged today taking the total recoveries in the state to 3,648.
308 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total count to 6,824. Active cases now stand at 3,092.

As per the Ministry of Health data, 11458 news cases and 386 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours since Friday 8 am taking the total tally to 308993 which includes 145779 active cases, 154329 recovered cases, 1 migrant patient, and 8884 deaths.
Maharashtra, the state with the most number of confirmed cases has reported 97,648 cases. The state also witnessed 150 coronavirus-related deaths during the same time and its Covid-19 death toll is now 3,590.
With the highest single-day spike of 2,137 COVID-19 cases on Friday, the total tally in Delhi crossed the 36,000-mark as the death toll due to the disease climbed to 1,214. According to a health bulletin of the Delhi health department, 71 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours. This is the first time that over 2,000 cases have been reported in a day in Delhi. The previous biggest jump in fresh cases at 1,877 was recorded on Thursday.
Looking at the horrific situation in the capital, the Supreme Court today tore into the Delhi government over the "sorry state of affairs" for treatment of COVID-19 patients at its hospitals, calling the situation in the national capital "horrendous, horrific and pathetic".
On the handling of the bodies of COVID-19 victims by states, the SC said there was "no proper adherence to the guidelines" of the health ministry and the hospitals are not giving "due care and concern to the dead bodies".
