The nationwide tally of Covid-19 cases crossed one lakh mark on Tuesday with more people testing positive for the deadly virus in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and other states, even as a much-relaxed fourth phase of the lockdown began with several relaxations. The death toll due to Covid-19 crossed the 3,000-mark too.

Maharashtra: Number of positive infections increased to 37,136 with 2,127 new cases. 76 new deaths took the toll to 1,325.
Uttar Pradesh: 323 new positive cases were reported today, taking the total number of positive cases to 4,926. The death toll stands at 135.
Rajasthan: The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 5,845. There were record 338 confirmed cases on Tuesday in the state. 5 new deaths took the death count to 143.
Tamil Nadu: 601 more infections and 3 deaths reported in the state today. The total number of cases in the state is now at 12,448, including 7,466 active cases and 84 deaths.
Gujarat: 395 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state stand at 12,141, including 5,043 cured/discharged and 719 deaths.
Jammu and Kashmir: 28 fresh positive cases reported today; 22 from Kashmir division and 6 from Jammu division. Total positive cases stand at 1,317 including 653 active cases.
Assam: 13 new COVID-19 confirmed cases detected from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre. The total patient count jumped to 154.
Haryana: 36 confirmed cases reported today, total number of positive cases in the state rise to 964 cases including 627 discharges and 14 deaths.
Punjab: 22 new positive cases reported today. The total number of positive cases rise to 2002 cases including 322 active cases, 1,642 cured, and 38 deaths.
New Delhi: Heavy traffic is seen at ITO and Yamuna Bridge area after certain relaxations were eased in the lockdown 4.0.
Karnataka: Record 149 number of cases reported in a day. Total active cases 811. Total discharges 543. Total deaths - 41. Total positive cases - 1,395.
Bihar: 53 more COVID-19 confirmed cases take the total to 1,495.
Uttarakhand: 8 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported today. The total number of positive cases rise to 104 including 52 recovered, 1 death and 51 active cases.
Rajasthan: 128 fresh positive cases of COVID19 and 1 death have been reported in the state till 2 pm. Total number of positive cases rise to 5757 including 139 deaths, 3232 recovered and 2386 active cases as per the State Health Department.
Ministry of Health: India has so far about 7.1 confirmed COVID19 cases per lakh population vis a vis approx. 60 cases per lakh population globally. A glimpse of the comparison with countries having the highest number of confirmed cases of COVID19.
Mangaluru migrant protest: Hundreds of migrant labourers protested in front of Milagres College in Mangaluru demanding that the Dakshina Kannada administration arrange transport for them to go back to thier native places. The migrant labourers are provided temporary shelter at the college by district administration until Shramik trains are arranged. Following protests, Mangaluru city police commissioner Dr P S Harsha visited the spot and convinced the migrant workers and assured them that they'll arrange transport at the earliest.
Delhi: With 500 new cases reported in the last 24 hrs, Delhi’s case count rises up to 10,554.
Karnataka: 127 more COVID-19 cases reported in the state from 5 pm yesterday till 12 pm today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 1373, including 802 active cases, 530 discharged & 41 deaths (1 due to 'non-covid' cause) as per State Health Department data.

With an aim to reboot numerous locked down economic activities, authorities across the country ordered reopening of markets, intra-state transport services and even of barbershops and salons in some states, barring in containment zones. However, schools, colleges, theatres, malls and religious gatherings are among those that would remain shut down, at least till May 31.
India has been under lockdown since March 25, which was first supposed to be for 21 days or toll April 14, but was later extended till May 3, then further till May 17 and now for another two weeks till May 31.
