Kozhikode district recorded the highest turnout with 79 per cent, followed by Malappuram (78.87) and Kannur (78.57), while Kasaragod witnessed the lowest voter turnout with 77.17 per cent. As per early trends of the local body poll results in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation NDA leads in 13 wards, LDF- 12, UDF - 4.

The CPM candidate fielded from booth in Dharmadam, CM Pinarayi Vijayan's residence, at Kannur district - has been declared as the winner, according to 24 News channel.
Several districts in Kerala have imposed section 144 of CrPC on the basis of reports from respective district police chiefs. During the election clashes between party workers were reported in many places at these districts.
State Election Commissioner V Bhaskaran informed that the postal votes, including special ballot votes, will be counted first and EVM votes later.

Close fight between LDF, BJP and Congress in Thiruvananthapuram corporation. Initial leads show LDF leading in 5 wards, BJP in 3 wards and Congress in 2 wards.
The elections were held in three phases on December 8, 10 and 14, the polling was for as many as 15,962 wards in 941 gram panchayats, 2080 wards in 152 block panchayats, 331 divisions in 14 district panchayats, 3078 wards in 86 municipalities and 414 wards in six municipal corporations. The overall voter turnout was 76% while in 2015 it was 77.76%.
New Delhi: The counting of votes for the Kerala local body polls is currently underway, as per initial trends the ruling CPM-led LDF is at a clear advantage in most of the rural and urban local bodies. As of 11 am, the LDF is leading in 442 of the 941 panchayats, followed by UDF in 344 panchayats and NDA in 33 panchayats.
A total of 70,27,534 people, including 32,87,029 men, 37,40,486 women and 19 transgender people cast their votes in the four districts. Kozhikode district recorded the highest turnout with 79 per cent, followed by Malappuram (78.87) and Kannur (78.57), while Kasaragod witnessed the lowest voter turnout with 77.17 per cent. The final phase of polling witnessed 78.64 per cent voter turnout in the four districts.
The tri-cornered fight between Left Democratic Front, United Democratic Front and National Democratic Alliance for the local body elections is being seen as a precursor to the state assembly elections which is scheduled for May 2021.
