An RSS-affiliated farmers' body held a 'Kisan Garjana' rally at Ramleela Ground in Delhi on Monday and warned that the states and the BJP-led central government will face trouble if their demands are not met in time. Thousands of farmers from several states, including Punjab, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, reached Delhi on tractors, motorcycles and buses braving extreme cold to take part in the rally organised by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.

Kisan Garjana Rally 2022: Farmes' demands
The farmers have called for a rollback of GST on all kinds of farming activities and the permission for commercial production of genetically modified crops. They are also pushing the Centre to increase the financial support provided under the PM-Kisan scheme. Launched in December 2018, income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments is provided to all land-holding farmer families under the scheme. According to the organisers, around 60,000 people are estimated to participate in the rally.

Over 55,000 farmers will demonstrate in Ramlila Maidan in a rally lead by Bhartiya Kisan Sangh which has organised the protest putting forward two demands- Abolition of GST on agricultural inputs and an increase in the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Farmers are demanding the abolition of GST on agriculture inputs as they are not getting input credit for their products,
The amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi should be increased in proportion to the increase in inflation in agricultural inputs, said the BKS in statement.
