Prime Minister Narendra Modi-US President Joe Biden held a bilateral meeting after the Quad summit. Biden told PM Modi that he is committed to making America's partnership with India among the closest on earth, saying there is so much that the two countries can and will do together.
The US President also praised India's Covid-19 vaccination efforts.
During the Quad Summit, which comes amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, US President Joe Biden attacked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and said that he is just "trying to extinguish a culture".
"This is more than just a European issue, it's a global issue," Biden said and added that the global food crisis may worsen by Russia blocking Ukraine from exporting its grains.
"As long as Russia continues the war, the US will work with its partners," Biden said.
Quad has a 'lot of work' to keep Indo-Pacific region peaceful: Joe Biden
US President Joe Biden, while delivering his remarks at the Quad Leaders' Summit, said that Quad has a "lot of work" to keep the Indo-Pacific region peaceful and stable.
"The Quad has a lot of work ahead of us. We have a lot of work to keep the Indo-Pacific region peaceful and stable, tacking this pandemic and next and addressing the climate crisis," Biden said.
He also stated that the US will be a "strong, steady and enduring partner" in the Indo-Pacific.
"We are Indo-Pacific powers. As long as Russia continues the war, we are going to be partners and lead a global response. We stay together for the shared values and vision we have," the US President said.

At the Quad Leaders' Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific Region is our "shared goal".
"At the Quad level, with our mutual cooperation, a free, open, and inclusive Indo Pacific Region is getting encouraged - it is the shared goal of all of us," he stated.

While addressing the Quad Leaders' Summit, PM Modi said that the Quad has made an important place for itself before the world in such a short span of time.
"Today, Quad's scope has become extensive, its form effective. Our mutual trust and our determination is giving new energy and enthusiasm to democratic powers," he added.

"First of all, I congratulate (Australian) PM Anthony Albanese and extend my best wishes for winning the elections," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said before beginning his address at the Quad Leaders' Summit in Tokyo.
"Your presence amongst us 24 hours after taking the oath reflects the strength of Quad friendship and your commitment towards it," Modi said.

Newly-elected Australia PM Anthony Albanese during his first Quad Leaders' meet said that his government is committed to working with your countries (India, Japan and United States).

Earlier on Monday, PM Narendra Modi began his two-day Japan visit by receiving a rousing welcome from Indian diaspora in Tokyo. The Prime Minister also met a number of business leaders and CEOs. These business leaders included representatives of companies like Suzuki Motor Corporation, Soft Bank, Uniqlo and Japanese Information Technology company NEC Corporation.
"A warm welcome by the Indian community, meetings with business leaders, IPEF launch, and a vibrant community program…sharing highlights from Day 1 of my Japan visit," PM Modi tweeted ahead of the action-packed schedule on Tuesday.
