Phulpur ByPoll: Samajwadi Party's Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel leading by 38,498 with 2,71,752 votes, BJP's Kaushlendra Singh Patel second with 2,33,254 votes after 25th round of counting.
Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Suday Yadav has won the Jehanabad assembly by-poll by over 35000 votes against his nearest Janata Dal (United) rival Abhiram Sharma.
BJP candidate Rinky Rani wins from Bhabua constituency, defeating Congress candidate Shambhu Patel with a margin of over 15,000 votes.
War of words is on as SP is inching towards a win in Gorakhpur, Phulpur polls. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and Shiv Sena congratulated the SP and attacked the BJP over the elections.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, who had won the Phulpur seat in 2014 elections for the BJP, said that the results were not expected. "We didn't expect that BSP's vote will be transferred to SP in such a manner. We will analyse after seeing the final results and prepare for a situation in future when BSP, SP and Congress can come together. We will also make a strategy to win the 2019 elections," he said.
After the 16th round of voting, the SP is leading by 24,529 votes in Gorakhpur. In Phulpur too, the SP is ahead by over 30,000 votes.
Celebrations have begun in Samajwadi Party offices with supporting cheering with slogans of 'Bhua-Bhateeja zindabad' slogans.
RJD is leading by 23,187 votes in Araria Lok Sabha by-poll. The RJD has got with 3,33,050 votes, while the BJP is trailing with 3,09,863 votes.
As election results show that Gorakhpur and Phulpur are slipping of the BJP's hands, party president Amit Shah was seen arriving at the party headquarters in Delhi. A loss for party in Gorakhpur is huge considering that it has been a BJP bastion and has also been the seat of UP CM Adityanath.
SP candidate Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel leading by 20,495 votes in Phulpur after 14th round of counting. In Gorakhpur, Praveen Nishad of SP extends margin by 14,648 votes in Gorakhpur over BJP at the end of ninth round of counting.
After the 11th round of counting, SP's Praveen Kumar Nishad is leading. He has got 1,63,941 votes, while BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla is at the second spot with 1,50,062 votes.
The bypolls do not seem to be going in BJP's favour. SP's Praveen Kumar Nishad is leading with a margin of 10,598 votes in Gorakhpur. He has got 1,19,427 votes, while BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla is at the second spot with 1,08,829 votes after the eighth round of counting. In Phulpur, Samajwadi Party's Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel is leading with a margin of 15,713 votes. Nagendra Patel has got 1,22,247 votes, while BJP's Kaushlendra Singh Patel is at the second place with 1,06,534 votes after the 11th round of counting.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is facing a serious challenge on his home turf Gorakhpur. The byelections for the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Assembly seat is turning out to be in Samajwadi Party’s favour. After seven rounds of counting SP candidate Pravin Kumar Nishad is leading by 9,446 votes against his nearest rival and BJP candidate Upendra Dutt Shukla.
In a written complaint, the SP has questioned why media is being removed from the counting centre in Gorakhpur. They have also alleged that the police lathicharged those present outside the counting centre.
It's a close call in Araria Lok Sabha seat in Bihar with the RJD leading by a narrow margin of 455 votes. The RJD candidate has got 1,95,527 votes, while the BJP is at the second spot with 1,95,072 votes.
Meanwhile in Bihar, the BJP is leading in Bhabua with 23,640 votes and the RJD leading in Jehanabad with 32,554 votes.
After seven rounds of counting, the SP is leading by 9446 votes. While the SP candidate has received 1,05156 votes, BJP has 95,690 votes.
Gorakhpur DM Rajeev Rautela confirmed that the SP is leading with a margin of 3670 votes after the fifth round of counting. The SP has won 74077 votes while the BJP has won 70317 votes.
BJP leading in Bhabua after the eighth round of counting with 19,738 votes. The RJD is leading in Jehanabad after the round of counting with 29,551 votes.
Uttar Pradesh Assembly has been adjourned for 10 minutes following the uproar over reports that media is being barred to enter the counting centre in Gorakhpur. The issue was raised by SP's Ram Govind Chaudhary in the House. As per latest trends, the SP is leading on the seat with nearly 1500 votes and the BJP has slipped to the second spot.
In Araria Lok Sabha bypoll, the BJP is leading by a margin of 8979 votes. BJP's Pradip Singh has won 1,13,169 votes while at RJD's Sarfaraz Alam is at the second spot with 1,04,190 votes.
The Samajwadi Party has taken a considerable lead of nearly 7000 votes in Phulpur against the BJP. SP's Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel has won 54,562 votes, while his nearest rival BJP's Kaushlendra Singh Patel is trailing at the second spot with 47,631 votes.
After the fourth round too, BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla has managed to maintain his lead. With 15577 votes, Shukla is at the first spot while SP's Praveen Nishad is holding the second spot.
Gorakhpur DM Rajeev Rautela is present at the counting centre to monitor the operations. Denying reports that information is being withheld, he said: "Counting of votes is underway. When ARO sends counting figures of any round from the 5 assembly constituencies, it is scrutinised by the RO and two observers scrutinise the counting figures manually and digitally and then sign it. This process takes time."

The SP is leading in the second round of counting as well in Phulpur. Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel has got 22, 460 votes so far while BJP's Kaushalendra Singh Patel has got 21, 402 votes.
In the first round of counting in Phulpur, SP's Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel got 12383 votes, BJP's Kaushlendra Singh Patel bagged 9906 votes and Independent candidate Atiq Ahmad won 2570 votes.
RJD has regained its lead over the JDU in Jehanabad after the second round of counting. RJD's Kumar Krishna Mohan, after falling to the second spot for some time, is again leading against his rival Abhiram Sharma of the JDU.
JDU has taken a slight lead over the RJD in Jehanabad bypolls. As per latest trends, JDU candidate Abhiram Sharma is leading in the polls with a narrow margin of just over a 30 votes. Since the first round of counting on Wednesday, RJD has been leading on the seat. The slight edge of the JDU suggests that the contest may have a nail-biting finish.

After the initial trends going in RJD's favour in Araria, the BJP has now taken the lead in the Lok Sabha constituency.
Samajwadi Party candidate from Gorakhpur Praveen Kumar Nishad said that he is confident of winning the elections. While the early trends are ruling in BJP's favour, Nishad levelled allegations of EVM tampering. "I am confident of my victory and that is what people are saying that SP's grand alliance will win this seat but there is a doubt in everyone's mind regarding EVM machines. The government can do anything using state administration," Nishad said.
In trends just emerging, Samajwadi Party candidate Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel is leading in Phulpur by over 2600 votes while the BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla is at the second spot.
The counting of postal ballots is over and the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) have been opened in Bihar. So far, the RJD is ahead in Araria Lok Sabha seat and Jehanabad Assembly constituency while the BJP is leading in Bhabua Assembly seat.
BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla is leading in Gorakhpur. He is facing a tough fight from Samajwadi Party's Pravin Nishad and Congress leader Sureetha Kareem. The Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after the resignation of five-time MLA Yogi Adityanath who took over as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister after the BJP's victory in 2017 Assembly elections.

Counting of votes begins for Bihar and Uttar Pradesh bypolls
With an aim to present a united front against the BJP, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Samajwadi Party (SP) joined hands in the Gorakhpur and Phulpul bypolls. Adityanath termed the BSP-SP partnership for the bypolls an "unholy alliance", while Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav had said the polling day will "change and re-write history".
In Bihar, 57 per cent polling was recorded in the by-election to the Araria Lok Sabha constituency, while in the Bhabua and Jehanabad Assembly constituencies, the voter turnout was 54.03 per cent and 50.06 per cent respectively.
The voter turnout was 47.45 per cent in Gorakhpur and 37.39 per cent in Phulpur in Sunday's polling. Ten nominees were in the fray from Gorakhpur, while 22 candidates contested from Phulpur.
Counting of votes for the Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha bye-elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held today amid tight security arrangements. In Bihar, counting will be held for Araria Lok Sabha seat and Bhabua and Jehanabad Assembly constituencies.
