Vice Presidential Elections Result 2022
NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankar won by 346 votes as he bagged 528 of the total 725 votes that were cast. While 15 were termed invalid, Opposition candidate Margret Alva received 182 votes in the election: LS Gen-Secy Utpal K Singh
Out of 780 electors comprising elected and nominated members of the RS and elected members of LS, 725 electors cast their votes. Total voter turnout - 92.94%: Utpal Kumar Singh, Lok Sabha Secretary-General. (ANI)

Over 85 per cent votes were cast in the Vice Presidential election till 2 PM, PTI reported. Around 670 MPs of the 780 MPs in both Houses -- another eight Rajya Sabha seats are vacant -- have voted so far, officials said.

Vice Presidential Polls 2022 Live Updates: NDA's candidate Jagdeep Dhankar was elected as the 14th Vice President of India by defeating Opposition's Margaret Alva. Dhankhar will succeed incumbent Venkaiah Naidu, whose term as the VP ends on Aug 10.
Jagdeep Dhankhar was in an advantageous position with the support of several parties like Janta Dal (United), YSRCP, BSP, AIADMK and Shiv Sena. He won by a massive margin and bagged 528 votes against Margaret Alva who received 182 votes.
The 80-year-old Alva is a Congress veteran and has served as governor of Rajasthan, while the 71-year-old Dhankhar is a Jat leader from Rajasthan with socialist background.
The polling was held from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and the ballots are being counted immediately after that.
