Siliguri Sub Division Election: The results for 462 seats of 22 gram panchayats under Siliguri sub-division council were declared on Wednesday. The Trinamool has won 320 seats. The BJP won 86 gram panchayat seats. The Congress won 21 gram panchayat seats. The CPM won 15 gram panchayat seats. Independent candidates have won 20 gram panchayat seats.
For the last five years, there was a Left Front board in the Siliguri subdivisional council. This time it's just the TMC.

Counting on...West Bengal CM says, 'I thank the people of the hills for peaceful voting. There was a lot of unrest in the Hills. Now peace has returned to the Hills. There was such a peaceful vote. We had an alliance with Anit (Thapa). The opposition won only eight seats. Our alliance won the rest.
The Trinamool Congress won 19 of the 22 gram panchayats. There are three panchayats undecided. That is, the BJP, The Congress and the Left stays empty handed.

The final results of the elections to the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) in Bengal’s Darjeeling are out and the Anit Thapa-led Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) has won 26 seats of the 45 seats. TMC, on the other hand, has grabbed five seats while the Independents and the newly-formed Hamro party have won seven seats each.

Results of 30 out of 462 gram panchayat seats of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad election 2022 are declared. Of these, TMC has won 27 seats, while BJP has bagged two and the CPI (M) has won one.

The counting of votes for Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad in north Bengal also began this morning. In Siliguri, counting started in nine seats of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad (sub-divisional council), 22 panchayats, and four panchayat samitis at 8 am.
The TMC is leading in Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad as per early trends, the official said.

Elections could not be held in 2017 due to a violent statehood agitation, with a state-appointed administrative body taking over the reins of the council.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), GJM and Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) have boycotted the GTA polls this time.

New Delhi: The nine-month-old Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) Wednesday (June 29, 2022) emerged as the largest single party in elections to the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration in the Darjeeling hills, winning 27 out of 45 seats. The BGPM, led by former GTA chairman Anit Thapa, is a breakaway faction of the Bimal Gurung-led Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) which had boycotted the GTA polls held after a decade in the hills. Another newly floated outfit, Hamro Party, and the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress bagged eight and five seats respectively, while five independent candidates emerged victorious in the GTA polls.
