The victims, identified as Sanjay and Usman from Uttar Pradesh, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In another attack in North Kashmir, terrorists shot and injured two non-local laborers working on the Jal Jeevan Project in the Mazhama area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. This incident has heightened concerns about the security of non-locals in the region, following a recent series of violent attacks targeting non-local laborers and security personnel.
According to official sources, the laborers, identified as Sufiyan and Usman from Uttar Pradesh, were working near the Mazhama graveyard on the banks of Nallah Sukhnag when assailants opened fire.
Usman sustained a bullet wound to his arm and is in stable condition, while Sufiyan, who was shot in the leg, is in critical condition. Both are currently receiving advanced treatment at Jhelum Valley Medical College.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area to apprehend the attackers, sealing entry and exit points and launching extensive searches.
This terror attack marks the third major incident in the past three weeks. On October 20, terrorists targeted workers at the Z-Morh tunnel in Gagangeer, Ganderbal, killing seven and injuring five.
Last week, an attack on an Army convoy in Butapathri, Gulmarg, Baramulla, left two soldiers and two civilian Army porters dead.
