Reliance Jio effect: Latest 4G data offers from Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and BSNL

Take a look at the latest offers from Vodafone, Airtel, BSNL and Idea that were laid out in the month of December.

New Delhi: Free unlimited 4G data, unlimited voice and video call, 16 million subscribers in less than a month (52 million now as per reports), Reliance Jio Welcome Offer could not have been a bigger threat to other telecom operators of the country.

The only relief was, the offer was till December 31, 2016.

However, with Mukesh Ambani extending the Welcome Offer as Happy New Year Offer till March 31, 2017, the fear of other players in the telecom industry only got worse.

Not the ones to lay back and watch others go ahead, India's leading telecom operators have launched a serious of counter offers against Reliance Jio.

Let's take a look at the latest offers that were laid out in the month of December.

RELIANCE JIO:

Under Fair Usage Policy (FUP), Jio has cap data usage for its customers to just 1GB per day against 4GB and unlimited between 2am to 4am. The unlimited voice and video call remains the same.

VODAFONE INDIA

Vodafone has cut the price of its 3G/4G data by 50 percent.

Under this offer Vodafone customers will get 2 GB of 4G data usage for Rs 255 instead of 1GB offered earlier. Similarly, Rs 459 plan will offer 6 GB of 4G data, Rs 559 plan 8GB, Rs 999 plan 20 GB and Rs 1999 plan 40 GB. All plans will be valid for 28 days.

BHARTI AIRTEL

While the country's leading service provider had previously come up with a series of 3G/4G offers. However, the latest is the Rs 145 offer under which the company offers 300 MB 4G data along with free unlimited Airtel-to-Airtel local/STD calls.

The Rs 345 pack from Airtel offers unlimited free local/STD calls to any network in India and 1GB 4G data.

Both the offers are for a period of 28 days.

BSNL

Before Airtel, it was Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) that came up with the Rs 149 offer.

Under this price offer, BSNL customers will get 300MB of 3G/4G data along with unlimited calls to any network, both local and national.

IDEA CELLULAR

Idea on Thursday became the latest telecom player to come up with offers to take on Reliance Data – Rs 148 offer and Rs 348 offer.

Under the Rs 148 offer, Idea customers will be able to make free Local and STD Idea-to-Idea calls across India and get 50MB of data. Customers with 4G handsets will get 300 MB of data in addition to voice benefit,

On the other hand, customers can enjoy free Local and STD calls across all networks in India along with 50MB of data on the Rs 348 offer. In the same pack, customers with 4G handsets will get 1 GB of data in addition to voice benefit.
