Reliance Jio impact: Vodafone cuts the price of 4G data by 50%

New Delhi: As Reliance Jio extended its free service by another three months to the end of March 2017, telecom operators are in the rush to offer the best deals possible.
India's leading telecom service provider Vodafone on Wednesday announced that it was cutting the price of its 4G data by a huge 50 percent. In other words, it was offering double 4G data.
The new offer would be available on existing customers for schemes above Rs 255.
It means that Vodafone customers will not get 2GB of 3G/4G data for the for the price of Rs 255, which was earlier the price of 1GB of 3G/4G data.
"All Vodafone 4G pre-paid customers can now avail 'Double Data' benefits on existing market packs and will enable Vodafone customers to enjoy an enhanced mobile internet experience. This offer is applicable on all 4G market packs starting from Rs 255," Vodafone said in a statement.
Under this offer Vodafone customers will get 2 GB of 4G data usage for Rs 255 instead of 1GB offered earlier. Similarly, Rs 459 plan will offer 6 GB of 4G data, Rs 559 plan 8GB, Rs 999 plan 20 GB and Rs 1999 plan 40 GB. All plans will be valid for 28 days.
"We are confident that this value offering will further enhance mobile internet experience for our customers and will enable them to experience the world of Vodafone SuperNet4G to the fullest," said Apoorva Mehrotra, Business Head, Delhi-NCR.
Reliance Jio is offering free 4G data benefit for its customers till March 31, 2017. Earlier, the scheme was to end on December 31, 2016 for customers who bought Jio sim by December 3.
