SRINAGAR: The Pakistan Army once again resorted to unprovoked firing along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba sector.

One Border Security Force (BSF) Head Constable RP Hazra jawan has lost his life in during the encounter. 


Pakistan Army on December 31 resorted to ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Digwar sector of the state's Poonch district and in Nowshera sector. 


Pakistan has continued a series unprovoked incidents of firing along the LoC throughout December. Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat had reviewed the operational preparedness of the security forces and prevailing security situation in the state last week.


On December 23, four Indian Army soldiers, including a Major, were killed in a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army on the LoC in J&K's Rajouri district.


Meanwhile, the United States suspended $255 million military aid to Pakistan accusing the country of “playing double games for years”.
