After being harassed by co-students, girl in Kanpur University hangs herself

LUCKNOW: A Kanpur University student committed suicide for allegedly being harassed by two other fellow students.

The student was pursuing Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) from University of Kanpur.

The deceased student had earlier registered an FIR against the accused students.

The student was asked by the university HOD to take back her complaint. She, however, refused to withdraw it.

Following this, she was threatened by the university authority saying that they would ruin her future.

The officer-in-charge of the concerned police station also did not pay much heed to the complaint lodged by the victim student.

The negligence by both the university and the police eventually led to the death of a young student.
