BENGALURU: Karnataka Power and Energy Minister DK Shivakumar and his family appeared before Income Tax Department on Monday in connection with alleged tax evasion case.
The Congress leader appeared before the tax sleuths along with his mother, wife and daughter.
Earlier in August 2017, taxmen raided 64 properties of the minister and his relatives across the country for three consecutive days.
At the time, Shivakumar was housing 44 Gujarat Congress legislators in a private resort outside Bengaluru, in an effort to stop poaching by BJP members. This incident took place right before the Gujarat Rajya Sabha Polls.
During the raids, the IT department recovered more than Rs 11 crore in cash.
Following the raids, Shivakumar's mother accused state Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah of being responsible for the Income-Tax raids on her son. The minister later apologised for his mother's statements.
Shivakumar, had already appeared before IT officials in August and October.
