Dharwad is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. Voting for Lok Sabha election in Karnataka was held in two phases on April 18 and April 23. Dharwad went to polls on April 23 and counting will be held on May 23. The constituency was created after the delimitation in 2008.

Dharwad registered 70.06 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 4.15 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1725355 while the total voter turnout is 1208767. While in 2014, the constituency registered 65.91 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1578064 while the total voter's turnout was 1040096.

Irappa Madar of Bahujan Samaj Party, Pralhad Joshi of Bharatiya Janata Party and Vinay Kulkarni of Indian National Congress are a few prominent candidates contesting for general elections 2019 from Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka.

Dharwad parliamentary constituency comprises of eight assembly segments namely Navalgund, Kundgol, Dharwad, Hubli-Dharwad-East, Hubli-Dharwad Central, Hubli-Dharwad-West, Kalghatgi and Shiggaon Honnali.

In the 2014 election, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pralhad Joshi defeated his nearest rival by 111,657 votes. While Pralhad Joshi bagged 543,395 votes, Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni secured 431,738 votes.
