The former prime minister and JD-S supremo HD Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil who contested from Mandya constituency, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, and state Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda were among the prominent faces from the state this election.
