Congress MLA brings spent tear gas shell inside Kerala Assembly, sparks row
The 68-year-old MLA said that the tear gas shells used to disburse Youth Congress protesters last week were beyond their expiry date.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Congress MLA on Wednesday came to the Kerela Assembly carrying a spent tear gas shell. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, 68, represents Kottayam constituency.
Showing the grenade to the Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan, Radhakrishnan said that the tear gas shells used to disburse Youth Congress protesters last week were beyond their expiry date.
The police are still using them, he added.
Radhakrishnan, however, submitted the teargas shell to the Speaker later on.
