PM Modi recalls his earlier meetings with Shri Nand Kishore Goenka and says that the family has always been open to new ideas and has taken every challenge as an opportunity to create a presence in a range of initiatives from 'soil to satellite'.

PM says that India has had a tradition where successive generations take family values forward and contribute to the family by adding their capacities and capabilities.
I have known the family of Dr Chandra for years. Their business group is active in so many sectors, adds PM.
Today's occasion is obviously connected with the Essel Group but it is also connected with values associated with our land, says PM Modi.

Earlier, Saarthi, a great employment initiative was launched by Dr Chandra and PM Modi.
Saarthi is a people’s empowerment programme on subjects such as education, health and employment.
Dr Chandra salutes those who relentlessly support soldiers and talks about #armybehindarmy initiative.
As part of this initiative, we plan to highlight and promote the causes of Armymen's wives through our organisation," he points out.
Dr Chandra enumerates plans to improve housing and water delivery.
Our Asha 2022 initiative is a low-cost, affordable housing scheme. However, the work is still in progress. Asha means Affordable Shelter and Houses for All, he says.
40,000-strong Esselites are powering the group to fulfill its vision. It has six-and-a-half lakh shareholders in addition to scores of well-wishers in India and abroad. Today, Zee News and Zee Entertainment have their presence in 172 countries with over 120 crore viewership, says Dr Chandra.
We have launched many pioneering and successful projects in the country. One motivation behind our success is my grandfather Jagan Nath Goenka's counsel - Never be afraid of difficulties and never compromise on your promise and honesty, he adds.
It is important that along with profit in business, the country should also benefit, says Dr Chandra.
We started a lot of projects in this country. We have believed that one shouldn’t be afraid of problems but believe in oneself, says Dr Chandra.
I am speaking here but the voice is of our employees. People used to think that Essel Group is only 30-40 years old. We have scaled new heights due to people's blessings, says Dr Chandra.
Dr Chandra extends his and his family's greetings to everyone and thanks President and PM Modi for gracing the occasion.

Another fact - In 2003 Essel Group ventured into the education space, by launching the pre-school chain KIDZEE that currently touches the lives of more than 400,000 children.
And after crossing regulatory hurdles and the absence of a legal framework, Essel Group launched India’s first and currently largest DTH service Dish TV.
Did you know - ZEE was born on October 2, 1992, initially with only two hours of content. Despite focusing on inexpensive programming Zee became an overnight success.

Delhi: On Sunday the prestigious Essel Group celebrated its 90th anniversary with a mega event at held Indira Gandhi Stadium.
The function was graced by many dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee.
On the occasion, great initiatives like Saarthi and DSC Foundation were launched. The event was the top trend - #YoungAt90 - on micro-blogging site Twitter.
