Kakinada registered 78.38 percent voter turnout in Lok Sabha Election 2019, a gain of 8.46 percent from 2014. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1563226 while 1225308 came out to exercise their franchise. While in 2014, the constituency registered 69.92 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1857908 while 1299089 voted.

The first phase of voting in Kakinada – one of the 25 parliamentary constituencies of Andhra Pradesh where polling was held - ended on April 11. The fate of 15 candidates will be decided on May 23 when counting of votes takes place and the result is declared. The total voter turnout recorded in Andhra Pradesh was 76.69 per cent.

Congress, with no alliances in sight, has launched its campaign and has even informed it is ready to receive new aspirants for the Lok Sabha seats. YSRCP and BJP too have hit the ground running here. The polling will be done in the first phase on April 11, 2019 and the result will be out on May 23, 2019.
