Here is the full list of candidates contesting the Lok Sabha election in 2019 from Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency of Assam.

Tezpur is one of 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in the north-eastern state of Assam. Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency covers nine assembly segments - Dhekiajuli, Barchalla, Tezpur, Rangapara, Sootea, Biswanath, Behali, Gohpur and Bihpuria.

Tezpur registered 79.14 percent voter turnout in Lok Sabha Election 2019, a gain of 1.05 percent from 2014. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1494878 while 1183033 came out to exercise their franchise. While in 2014, the constituency registered 78.09 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1256098 while 980880 voted.

The first phase of voting in five constituencies of Assam ended on April 11. The fate of 8 candidates will be decided on May 23 when counting of votes takes place and the result is declared.

Pallab Lochan Das of the Bharatiya Janata Party, M.G.V.K. Bhanu of the Indian National Congress, Ziabur Rahman Khan who is an independent are some of the prominent names that are contesting for the general election 2019.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election here, lawyer-turned-politician Ram Prasad Sarmah of BJP defeated Congress' Bhupen Kumar Borah by 86020 votes.

Toppo may have been a distant fourth in the 2014 Lok Sabha election but he had tasted a confident win in the 2009 election which he had won by a margin of 30,153 votes. He had defeated Subba who was then with Congress (and has now returned to the party). The voter turnout in the 2009 election was 69.67 per cent in the Tezpur constituency.
