After thieves steal 300 kgs of tomatoes in Mumbai, armed men guard Indore market as vegetable`s price skyrocket
Prices of tomatoes continue to rise across India adding to the distress of common man.
Indore: In an unusual sight, armed men stood guard at a vegetable market in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to save cartons of tomatoes from being stolen.
The guards were stationed as the cartons of tomatoes were taken out from trucks and sold to customers.
Prices of tomatoes continue to rise across India adding to the distress of common man.
On July 20, thieves stole 300 kilogrammes of tomatoes in 30 crates from a vegetable market in Mumbai’s Dahisar.
As per news agency ANI, police have registered a case against unknown people.
The tomatoes were worth Rs 70,000.
Prices of tomatoes across the country have shot up to Rs 80-100.
