Dave passed away in New Delhi earlier on Thursday following a cardiac arrest. In a will written on July 23, 2012, Dave stated that if possible, his last rites should be done in Bandrabhan on the Narmada river.

Bandrabhan is the spot where Dave used to conduct the International River Festival every two years.

Madhya Pradesh will observe a two-day state mourning from May 18, the statement said.
