Pune: In a shocking incident, four stray dogs were burnt alive after being tied together with ropes in Pune in Maharashtra.

In addition, decomposed bodies and remains of 16 other dogs were also found strewn in bushes nearby. The bodies of dogs found nearby indicated that they were poisoned. 


The number of dogs murdered could rise as skeletons were found scattered in the bushes. 


NGO AcCT India officials, who visited the spot, said that limbs of four dogs were tied and that they were dragged for 50 metres before being set on the fire. The bodies of dogs have been sent for a postmortem. 


One of the officials said that bodies of at least 21 dogs were found from the spot. 


The charred remains of the dogs were collected from two to three spots.


Meanwhile, an FIR will be filed once the post-mortem report comes out.
