Nagpur: The bodies of eight persons who had drowned in Nagpur while travelling by boat have been recovered.

On Sunday, a boat carrying 11 people capsized near the Vena Dam, situated around 25 kilometres from Nagpur.


Eight persons drowned, while three persons managed to escape.


"Two teams were here for rescue operations. Few boys had come for a picnic. They took a fishing boat that capsized," Additional Superintendent of Police (Nagpur) Suresh Bhoyat told ANI.


"We took the help of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)," he added.
