New Delhi: Home-grown tech giant Micromax Informatics on Wednesday a new range of Vdeo smartphones that come with 4G/VoLTE connectivity, pre-activated Reliance Jio SIM and it's Happy New Year offer of free voice and data.

Priced at Rs 4,440 and Rs 4,990, respectively, Vdeo 1 and Vdeo 2 runs on Android Marshmallow operating system and comes bundled with video calling app Google Duo too.


The smartphones are available in the market, offline, starting Wednesday.


As for features, the Vdeo 1 is a 4-inch WVGA screen display device while the Vdeo 2 is a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen display device.


Both the smartphones are powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and have 8GB of internal storage.


"We think that this new series will revive sales in the sub Rs 6,000, which has shrunk by 30% on-year in the last three quarters," Shubhajit Sen, chief marketing officer at Micromax said.

"At Micromax we thrive on our understanding of the Indian consumer, consistently deriving insights and delivering innovative products to the market," Sen added in the statement.

Both the smartphones sport a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. While the Vdeo 1 is powered by 1,600mAh battery, the Vdeo 2 is powered by 1,800mAh battery.
