New Delhi: With barely three days of announcing a possible price hike, smartphone maker Realme has hiked the price of the Realme C1 and the Realme 2 by Rs 1000 and Rs 500 respectively.
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth had tweeted on November 4 that the company may have to hike the prices of phones considering the depreciation in Indian rupee.
On Flipkart, the 2GB RAM+ 16GB memory variant of the Realme C1 has been now priced at Rs 7,999. The phone with 2GB RAM+ 16GB memory was launched in September at Rs 6,999.
The 4GB RAM variant of the Realme 2 has got an upgrade to Rs 9,499, though there is no price upgrade for the 6GB RAM variant of the phone. Realme 2 was launched in August at Rs 8,990 for 4GB and Rs 10,990 for 6GB.
The Realme C1 comes with a 6.2 inch notch display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 45o Octa-core processor. The phone houses a 4230 mAh battery, 13MP + 2MP dual camera.
The dual SIM Realme 2 comes with a 6.2-inch display and the memory can be expanded up to 256GB. The device supports a 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, Snapdragon 450 chip coupled with a 4230mAh battery and runs on parent company OPPO's Android-based "ColorOS 5.1".
Born as OPPO's sub-brand, Realme is now an independent brand. In July, the company had announced that it is separating from OPPO to become a distinct entity and will be headed by Sky Li, former senior executive and head of OPPO India.
