Flight Diversions At Delhi Airport Due To Bad Weather: At least seven flights were diverted and many were delayed at the Delhi airport on Wednesday morning as low visibility conditions impacted operations, according to officials. One of the officials said nine flights were diverted to Jaipur and 1 to Lucknow since 7 am due to bad weather on Wednesday. The second official said some flights have been delayed and the visibility conditions are improving. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital is the country's busiest airport and handles around 1,400 flight movements daily.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that very dense fog began forming around 5.30 am, resulting in a thick haze over different parts of the national capital. Not only Delhi airport but several airports across India experienced significant visibility issues due to varying levels of fog. According to data provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), visibility observations were taken at 0830 IST.



Delhi Airport (IGI) reported severe conditions with a visibility level of zero meters, indicating dense to very dense fog. Such poor visibility impacted flight operations, including delays and diversions.


According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) visibility based on 0830 IST observation, 13th November: 


-- Amritsar airport recorded a visibility of 50 meters.
-- Halwara had visibility at 100 meters.
-- Sarsawa observed visibility of 250 meters.
-- Ambala reported visibility of 300 meters.
-- Chandigarh, Bhisiana, and Hindon, all noted visibility levels at 400 meters.
-- Kushinagar had visibility at 500 meters.
-- Gorakhpur observed a visibility of 600 meters.
-- Ayodhya had 800 meters of visibility.
-- Varanasi, Agra, Bikaner, and Deoghar, all reported visibility of 900 meters.
-- Bhopal recorded a visibility of 1000 meters.
