Mumbai: Even several days after declaration of BMC elections results, the big question which still remains unanswered is - Who will be Mumbai Mayor? Will it be from Shiv Sena or BJP?
Now, it seems Raj Thackeray's MNS and gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli's Akhil Bharatiya Sena (ABS) will act as king maker in BMC to decide the Mumbai Mayor.
Here's the detailed calculation why MNS and ABS will be king maker:-
Scenario 1 - Shiv Sena 84 + Independent 4 + ABS 1 = 89 and BJP 82 + Independent 1 = 83 (Here ABS will support Shiv Sena while MNS won't support neither BJP nor Shiv Sena)
Result - Mayor will be from Shiv Sena
Scenario 2 - Shiv Sena 84 + Independent 4 = 88 and BJP 82 + MNS 7 + Independent 1 + ABS 1 = 91 (Here ABS and MNS will support BJP)
Result - Mayor will be from BJP
Scenario 3 - Shiv Sena 84 + Independent 4 + MNS 7 + ABS 1 = 96 and BJP 82 + Independent 1 = 83 (Here ABS and MNS will support Shiv Sena)
Results - Mayor will be from Shiv Sena
BMC election results
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls threw up a fractured result and hence the political impasse continues.
Shiv Sena won 84 seats in the February-21 election to the 227-member BMC, the country's richest civic body. BJP was close behind, winning 82 seats, while Congress was a distant third with 31 seats.
Since 114 seats are required for reaching the simple majority mark, all eyes were on Congress. However, the party sources said it was wary of siding with "communal" forces, especially when it had made secularism its main plank in the Uttar Pradesh elections.
Sena has claimed that some Independent corporators were with it and have taken its tally to 89.
