MUMBAI: Mumbai police on Sunday registered an FIR against the unknown person who allegedly molested a Bollywood actor on a recent Delhi-Mumbai flight.

The incident came to light when the 17-year-old actress, who was travelling via Vistara airlines, shared the ordeal she had to go through en route Mumbai in the flight in an Instagram story.


She posted a photo of the man's activities on the flight. She added that she called out to the cabin crew for help but it was of no use.


Expressing her disgust, she revealed that a middle-aged fellow passenger tried to brush against her back while she was half asleep.


Acting on the complaint, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Directorate General of Civil Aviation has sought details from Vistara over the incident.


Meanwhile, police met her at the hotel in Mumbai where she is staying to take her statement over her allegations.


Accusing the airline of not coming to her help, the National Commission for Women called the incident shocking.


Police have registered the alleged molestation case under section 354 IPC and POCSO Act.
