Rajahmundry: A seven-year-old boy was killed and his mother was seriously injured when a building slab collapsed in Kakinada city of East Godavari district today.
The accident occurred this morning in the old building, housing a restaurant, at Paradeshi Peta in Jagannathapuram area in the city when the slab suddenly came crashing down, police said. In the mishap, the boy, identified as Rajesh, who used to live in the building, died on the spot while his 30-year-old mother sustained injuries and was rushed to the Kakinada Government General Hospital, police said, adding that her condition was stated to be serious. The work to clear the debris was on, police added.
