Kakinada: In a big catch, the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Andhra Pradesh has arrested a deputy transport commissioner who was in possession of assets worth Rs 800 crores.

Anti-graft officials raided the premises of A Mohan on Thursday and Friday at several locations in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.


The ACB raid was led by its Central Investigation Unit DSP A Ramadevi, Deccan Chronicle reported.


While the document value of Mohan's properties is between Rs 100 to 120 crores, the market value of these assets is believed to be around Rs 800 crores.


According to ACB officials, several bank lockers belonging to the official have yet to be opened.


Mohan was yesterday produced before the ACB Court in Vijayawada and sent to custody.


Among the valuables recovered from the houses of Mohan and his relatives were many precious gems, diamonds and other precious stones.


The raids were conducted at Vijayawada, Anantapur, Kadapa, Bellary, Medak, Nellore, Prakasam and some places in Hyderabad.
