Aggressive Lalu Prasad Yadav accuses Nitish Kumar of trying to break RJD
A combative Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday lashed out at Nitish Kumar and alleged that the Bihar Chief Minster was trying to break his party.

Patna: A combative Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday lashed out at Nitish Kumar and alleged that the Bihar Chief Minster was trying to break his party.
Addressing the press here, RJD chief also hit back at Vidhan Sabha Speaker Uday Narain Choudhary saying that he had complained to the Governor about him.
“Everyone is blaming the speaker. I have met the Governor and have told him that what he had done was unconstitutional,” he told the reporters.
At the same time Lalu blamed Nitish for trying to weaken his party. “They have a hidden agenda. Narendra Modi and Nitish are together.”
He exhorted the people to vote against both Modi and Nitish. “Remove Nitish and save Bihar. Remove Modi and save India,” he said. Lalu also said that his party`s campaign for the upcoming General Elections had started and that the RJD will emerge victorious at the polls. “Nitish is no force. People of Bihar will not forgive him,” he said.
On talks about LJP joining hands with BJP, the RJD chief said that communalism was the biggest threat faced by the country. “We want Congress, LJP and RJD to come together to defeat communal forces. I have no fight with Ram Vilas Paswan,” he said.
Yesterday, in a big setback to Lalu just before the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, it was reported that thirteen Rashtriya Janata Dal MLAs had left the party and may join the JD(U). Lalu was in Delhi at that time. He reached Patna today in the morning.
These 13 MLAs supposedly met the Speaker and pledged support to Nitish Kumar government. The Speaker reportedly recognized the breakaway faction as a separate group and declared them "unattached" from the RJD. RJD has 22 MLAs in the Bihar Assembly.
However, later accompanied by RJD Legislature party leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui, six of the 13 RJD MLAs told reporters that they did not consciously sign any letter for walking out of RJD and forming a separate group.
Abdul Gafoor claimed that the signature of MLAs were taken for different purposes like raising a matter for call attention motion during the Assembly session. "I did not sign any letter consciously to leave RJD... A fraud has been committed with me," Gafoor said.
Besides Gafoor, the other MLAs who came to RJD office to deny a split were Lalit Yadav, Faiyyaz Ahmad, Durga Prasad Singh, Chandrasekhar and Akhtar-ul Islam Sahin.
The rebel group is being led by MLA Samrat Chaudhary. Lashing out at Lalu yesterday he had said that no such thing as the RJD left in Bihar. He had also criticised the RJD chief for wooing the Congress.
Earlier today Lalu asserted that nine of the 13 legislators who reportedly broke away have denied parting ways. Prasad marched to the Assembly premises along with the nine MLAs as also five other RJD legislators and handed over a letter to Assembly Secretary Phool Jha, demanding that Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary withdraw the Assembly notification recognising the breakaway faction as a separate group.
"After divorce with the BJP, Nitish Kumar has gone mad and is luring MLAs of rival parties with ministerial berths to save his minority government," PTI quoted Prasad as saying after a legislature party meeting at the residence of former chief minister Rabri Devi.
Lalu has been in talks with the Congress regarding an alliance with the grand old party for the Lok Sabha polls. He has met Congress president and vice president, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi respectively couple of times in the recent past.
