In the clipping, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief could be seen sitting on a stage when the fan came off its hinges and plummeted. It brushed against the leader's hand before crashing on the stage platform. The ex-Bihar CM had reportedly complained about the rickety condition of the fan before the rally had begun.

Notably, the entire incident happened while an announcement was being made for the electrician to fix the fan.

Thankfully there was no casualty during the incident and Lalu escaped unhurt. He also did manage to complete addressing the huge crowd gathered that had gathered here.

He was campaigning for RJD candidate Binod Shrivastava contesting from Motihari seat.

Later, addressing the meeting, Prasad came down heavily on the organisers and the electrician for improper arrangement.

He jokingly told the crowd that he enjoyed blessings of Goddess 'Sherawali' (Durga) and hence no harm could happen to him.

Prasad met another accident just two days ago at Arwal when a portion of the dais, put up for an election meeting, collapsed due to overloading.
