Chhattisgarh CM condemns Maoist attack on policemen
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday strongly condemned the Maoist attack on policemen in Sukma district, terming it a `cowardly` and `shameful` act of violence and directed officials to track down the rebels involved in the strike.

Seven policemen, members of Special Task Force (STF), were killed and a dozen injured when Naxals ambushed them, triggering a gunbattle in the dense jungles of Sukma, a Maoist hotbed, nearly 400 km from here.
"It is a cowardly and shameful act of violence by Naxals. Our jawans fought bravely," Singh told reporters.
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred security personnel.
Meanwhile, Singh chaired a meeting of senior officials at his residence here late this evening to take stock of the situation after the latest Naxal attack.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officials to provide best medical treatment to the injured and wished for their speedy recovery.
Besides, he directed them to track down the ultras involved in the massacre and apprehend them.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) N K Aswal, Director General of Police A N Upadhyay and Secretary to CM Aman Kumar Singh, among other officials, were present in the meeting.
