The AAP has termed the raids as "witch-hunt" by the BJP-led NDA government.

However, Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal rejected the charges of vendetta behind income tax raids, saying any lawmaker doing illegal things will have to face legal scrutiny.

"This government does not work with the vendetta," he told reporters when asked to comment on I-T raids against Tanwar.

"If any MLA or MP of any party does illegal things, then whatever is the legal course he has to face that," he said.

Meghwal said his government holds no "grudge" against anyone.

The Chhatarpur MLA's farm house and offices were raided by income tax officials in July.
