`Jaitley should cooperate with Delhi Government`s Commission of Inquiry and prove his innocence,` said Arvind Kejriwal.
New Delhi: Reacting to the defamation suit filed against him by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that the Union Minister is trying to intimidate him and his party, but his fight against corruption will continue.
"Jaitley cannot intimidate us with court case. We will continue our fight against corruption," Kejriwal tweeted.
In another tweet, Delhi CM wrote, “Jaitley should cooperate with Delhi Government's Commission of Inquiry and prove his innocence.”
The Patiala House court on Monday set January 5, 2016 at 2 pm as the next date of hearing for the criminal defamation case filed by Arun Jaitley against Arvind Kejriwal and other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.
Jaitley has filed criminal defamation cases against Kejriwal and several AAP leaders in the Patiala House Court.
The Finance Minister also filed civil defamation suit in Delhi High Court of Rs 10 crores against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders - Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh and Deepak Bajpai..
Speaking in Parliament, Jaitley said the allegations against him in connection with DDCA scam are baseless and devoid of truth.
"All these allegations are baseless and devoid of truth. For a total sum Rs 114 crore, we made a stadium with a capacity of taking 42,000 people. Contrary to that, the Congress built the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium spending Rs 900 crores. No one raised doubts on that expenditure, "Jaitley said in the Lok Sabha.
