Enforcement teams of Delhi government and Delhi Traffic Police booked as many as 488 motorists for violating the odd-even scheme on Friday.
New Delhi: Enforcement teams of Delhi government and Delhi Traffic Police booked as many as 488 motorists for violating the odd-even scheme on Friday.
Delhi Traffic Police challaned 203 violators while Transport department and district administration teams booked 285 people for driving odd-numbered vehicles.
Yesterday, officials had issued 293 challans. The curb on vehicles under the scheme is enforced between 8 AM and 8 PM on weekdays.
A penalty of Rs 2,000 under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act is levied on violators of the road-rationing scheme under which cars with odd and even-numbered license plates ply on alternate days.
April 15, the first day of odd-even second phase had seen a total of 1,311 challans. The figures came down subsequently as penal action slowed down movement of vehicles leading to congestion.
