Rs 55 lakh jewellery stolen from Delhi metro station
An unidentified man stole a Haryana-based jeweller`s bag containing jewellery worth Rs.55 lakh from a baggage-scanning machine at a metro station here, police said Wednesday.
New Delhi: An unidentified man stole a Haryana-based jeweller`s bag containing jewellery worth Rs.55 lakh from a baggage-scanning machine at a metro station here, police said Wednesday.
The man walked off with Ravinder Soni`s bag while he was being frisked at Chandni Chowk metro station. Soni, 35, had placed the bag in the scanning machine. "Soni said he had bought the jewellery from Delhi`s Katra Nawab area Tuesday," said Sanjay Bhatia, additional deputy commissioner of police (crime and railways). Bhatia said CCTV cameras at the station showed a youth walking off with the bag.
