New Delhi: In a horrific attack, an Uber cab driver was shot dead by two teenagers in Delhi after boarding the car, media reports said.

The accused were apprehended by police on Friday in Najafgarh area.


Based on the personal details of the passengers revealed by Uber, Delhi Police cracked them down on Friday afternoon, india.com reported.


According to the report, the crime took place on Wednesday night.


A preliminary probe suggests that the murder took place after a heated argument between them and the driver over the fare.


The duo then dumped the driver's body at a secluded place and fled. The police zeroed in on and tracked them down with the help of the online booking software.

The driver was affiliated to both Uber and Ola cab aggregator services.

Uber in a statement later said, "Our thoughts are with the family of our driver-partner, the victim of this mindless violence. We have pro-actively shared details with the police to assist them with their investigation."
