VVIP chopper scam: Arrest Sonia Gandhi if you can, AAP dares PM Modi
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday launched a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi over VVIP chopper scam.
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday launched a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi over VVIP chopper scam.
The party launched the protest near the Race Course Metro Station in New Delhi demanding PM Modi to take action against Sonia Gandhi for her involvement in the chopper scam. The party is not just planning to reach out to Congress but also to BJP to take action on the issue.
Taking dig at both the major parties of the country, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal questioned BJP's silence on the issue while accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doing favours to Congress leaders especially to Gandhi family.
"Why has BJP been silent for last 2 years and hasn't initiated any action against the guilty. Is our Prime Minister scared of Sonia Gandhi? PM Modi doesn't have courage to take action against the Gandhi as he will himself be exposed on several other issues," Kejriwal alleged while addressing workers at Jantar Mantar.
"UPA govt was in power for 10 years. During its tenure, the then government at Centre shielded Narendra Modi ji by keeping his several cases hidden. Today, if PM Modi initiates any action against Gandhi family or Robert Vadra, he himself will land in a trouble. So, basically, its give and take nexus between Modi and Gandhi family," Kejriwal added.
Stepping up his attack on PM Modi over his alleged fake degree, Kejriwal further claimed that there were no records to prove that Modi had taken his B.A. from Delhi University.
"In his affidavit, PM Modi had mentioned that he has done his B.A. from Delhi University and Master from Gujarat University. "With full responsibility I say that they there are no details of his enrollment form, enrollment number, degree available with Delhi University. His name isn't mentioned anywhere.”
"We therefore, request PM to clear his stand and also apologise to the nation for forging his degrees. We will definitely forgive him. We don't want a PM with MA degree, we want an honest PM," he concluded.
According to reports, Aam Aadmi Party had plans to take a protest march from Jantar Mantar to 7 Race Course Road to gherao Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the matter. After the Delhi police tried to stop the advancing AAP volunteers who did not pay heed, resulting in a scuffle. According to another reports, the cops resored to even lathicharge to disperse the party workers.
