New Delhi: Heavy rains in the national capital today led to waterlogging in the airport here, affecting passenger movement.
Officials said rain water accumulated in both the international and domestic arrival halls of the airport. The waterlogging also affected the working of x-ray machines used for security check installed at the international arrival hall, they said.
"The rain water had entered in international and domestic arrival halls. The waterlogging affected normal passengers movement especially in the international halls and lobby there," a source said. "There was heavy waterlogging between 2-5 PM inside the arrival halls of the airport. Passengers also faced difficulty in wading through the arrival halls," the source said. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) staff were putting in all efforts to drain out the accumulated water. Delhi and neighbouring areas today witnessed heavy showers as monsoons arrived about a fortnight ahead of its schedule.
