The sad event took place at the beach resort of Santa Teresita in Buenos Aires last week, after tourists yanked the mammal out of the ocean and passed it around like a trophy for photographs with it.

Ironically, the tourists, after carelessly passing it around, the young dolphin, which belongs to Franciscan species, was left to die on the sand.

It is said that there are only about 30,000 left in the world.
