Conference on new education policy to be held on Oct 31
In the conference on October 31 in Gurgaon, the new education policy for the north Indian states would be finalized, an official release said.
Chandigarh: In the conference, to be chaired by Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Smriti Irani, on October 31 in Gurgaon, the new education policy for the north Indian states would be finalized, an official release said.
"The new education policy would be finalized in this conference," Haryana minister Ram Bilas Sharma said in Jhajjar district today, according to an official release here.
He said that wide range of discussions were held in all 6,072 villages of the state on the draft of new education policy and two lakh people had shared their suggestions on it.
Sharma said that the draft of new education policy was ready and approval would be given after detailed discussion in the Gurgaon conference.
He said that the policy of previous UPA Government not to fail any student from Class I to VIII "has resulted in falling standard of the level of education".
The present BJP Government in Haryana has decided to restore the previous system, Sharma said.
He said that absence of regular assessment in schools was impediment to growth of students; therefore, it was necessary to restore the previous system.
Last month, Irani had said in this regard,"till now plans were framed at national or state level. From education point of view if we prepare district-wise plan then the systemic change we want can be achieved."
