Ankara: A shooting took place outside the Israeli Embassy in Ankara, a Turkish news agency said on Wednesday.
According to initial reports, a man wielding a knife was fatally shot at by the security officials deployed outside Israel's embassy in the Turkish capital.
The man allegedly tried to storm the embassy, the officials said.
However, no one at the embassy was hurt.
Local reports said that the Israeli staff took refuge as soon as the attack began.
Several embassies in Ankara were closed late last week amid reports of a possible militant attack.
Turkey has been caught up in a series of deadly attacks in the past year, by jihadist group Islamic State and Kurdish militant groups.
