Faridabad: Jitender Kumar, father of the two Dalit toddlers who were burnt alive allegedly by people from upper caste at Sunped village here and undergoing treatment for post-traumatic shocks, was discharged from the hospital today.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Virendra Yadav said Jitender's health conditions were normal with no signs of infection and was discharged from hospital this afternoon.


He was admitted at B K Hospital here on Thursday after he developed signs of post-traumatic shocks and also to check if any infection spreading due to his burn injuries in his hands.


Family sources confirmed that Jitender was feeling better after returning from the hospital.


However, his uncle Hukum Singh said that despite the improvement Jitender was still in shock.


Jitender was escorted to his village by armed cops to ensure his safety, sources said.


Meanwhile, the SIT constituted for the case has started its work.


DCP NIT Pooran Chand, who heads the team, said they would share the findings when the CBI steps in the case, as the agency has already been given the responsibility of probe.


BSP National Vice President Raja Ram visited the victim after he arrived at home and assured that the issue would be raised in the Parliament.
