Talking to reporters, All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti president Hawa Singh Sangwan said, ""Agriculture Minister O.P. Dhankar has assured us that the Jat community will get the OBC benefit in Haryana if it is given to Jats in other states by the central government."

Adding further, Dhankar said that the Samiti members met the minister at Hansi town in Hisar district on Saturday and received the assurance following which they decided to call off their agitation.

Jats have been squatting on the railway track at Mayar village in Hisar district, 250 km from here, since February 12.

There are nine other states where Jats live in substantial numbers, Sangwan said.
