Viral fever is one of the most common illnesses usually characterised by an increase in body temperature, headaches and body aches. It also refers to a wide range of viral infections, which are very common during seasonal changes.


It is caused by different kinds of viruses, of which the influenza-virus is well known.


The symptoms of viral fever are so common that we neglect them at their initial stages. But, if you experience any of the following conditions, seek medical help as they can be symptoms of viral fever:


  • Very high fever that is intermittent in nature
  • High fever that doesn't go dowm with medicines
  • Fever that has been present for a long time
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle and joint pains
  • Skin rashes
  • Diarrhea
  • Sore throat
  • Running nose
  • Nasal congestion

Though a viral infection usually isn't serious, you should see a doctor if the fever does not subside after more than five days.
