New Delhi: The Delhi government has decided to double the number of hospitals beds in view of the preparedness of the H1N1 Influenza Virus (swine flu), it was announced on Wednesday.

This was decided in a meeting chaired by Health Minister Satyendra Jain.

Jain has directed that isolated wards in hospitals must be kept in a state of readiness and number of beds should be doubled than last year, said an official.

The minister has directed the officials to be present in the review meetings at a regular basis, given reports that swine flu cases have been reported in some parts of the country
