New Delhi: If routine dengue preventive measures and anti-dengue inspections are anything to go by, the outbreak of the deadly vector-borne disease Dengue in Delhi seems to have gripped the entire nation.
Routine inspections regarding mosquito breeding spots are taking place on the regular and notices are being issued to those who unknowingly harbour dengue mosquito breeding spots in their homes.
The list of people who have been issued notices carries the names of Bollywood stars Juhi Chawla, Anil Kapoor, Jitendra and singer Amit Kumar.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) sent notices to these Bollywood biggies after mosquito breeding sites were found during a routine inspection in their homes and gardens.
They will be serving the notice under section 381 B of MMC Act for not taking measures to prevent mosquito breeding.
According to DNA reports, BMC's insecticide officer, Rajan Narinrekar said, "The actors had to be prosecuted under the stricter sections as they failed to prevent breeding in their premises despite a mammoth awareness campaign undertaken by the BMC since January. It is unfortunate that 90% of dengue breeding in the city is happening in high-rises and bungalows."
