Beijing: A 32-year old man from Zhejiang province experienced the symptoms of yellow fever confirming the first imported yellow fever case in China. The country's National Health and Family Planning Commission today confirmed the same.

Yellow fever is an acute disease that gets transmitted by infected mosquitoes and is most prominent in tropical regions of Africa and South America. A person suffering from yellow fever can experience symptoms like chills and fever which the 32-year-old patient experienced.

According to the Commission, the patient is in a serious condition with weakened kidney and liver functions.

However, a panel of experts examined the case and said that the risk of transmission is less as this is not the season of mosquito breeding.
